About the Committee

The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) is the world’s largest police cooperation body, supporting law-enforcement agencies in preventing and combating transnational crime. It provides tools such as databases, notices, and secure communication systems that allow countries to share information, coordinate investigations, and respond quickly to global threats.

INTERPOL was founded in 1923 as the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC) and later adopted the name INTERPOL in 1956. Since then, it has become a central actor in facilitating international police collaboration, helping member states address crimes such as trafficking, terrorism, cybercrime, and organized criminal networks.
